He dominated Bollywood by selling audio cassettes and producing them at a low cost, creating a vast music empire. He also launched several new faces into the Indian film industry who have since become recognizable figures.
Gulshan Dua was born as Gulshan Kumar to Punjabi Aroras in the heart of Delhi. Born in the Daryaganj market in New Delhi, he came from a family of fruit juice sellers. In his early years, Gulshan earned his living there. After acquiring a shop with the support of his family, he began selling records and audio cassettes at 23. It was only the beginning of a music baron’s career. By producing cassettes himself, he maximized his profits in the music business.
