‘In Another World With My Smartphone’ is a light novel series that has been adapted into an anime, which ran for 12 episodes during the summer of 2017. The story follows Touya Mochizuki, who suddenly finds himself transported to another world with his smartphone left behind as his only connection to Earth. He soon meets an elf girl named Yumina, who treats Touya as a guest due to his resemblance to someone that saved her village before. Since then, other girls have also joined the party, and it seems that the protagonist is gaining new companions in this strange new world.
“Isekai,” a genre expressing the metaphorical equivalent of flogging a dead horse. Most anime programs that enter such a sector, much to the disappointment of their viewers, have drab characters and emotionless world-building. Don’t get me wrong: I’m not completely opposed to seeing an isekai-themed show. It’s just that a lot of the stuff out there is badly created copy with unoriginal concepts. Season 2 of In Another World With My Smartphone will be met with disdain from me.
Aside from this fairly limited diatribe, I’ve gone to great efforts to find out whether there’s any news regarding it. Continue reading for more, you strange weebs.
When will Season 2 of In Another World With My Smartphone be released?
Patora Fuyuhara wrote In Another World With My Smartphone aka Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni, which was illustrated by Eiji Usatsuka. The digitalization process began in 2013 on the Shsetsuka ni Nar website, with the final volume released in December 2019. Since then, the lighthearted isekai-themed novel has been turned into an ongoing manga and Season 1 anime.
The first episode of the anime ‘In Another World With My Smartphone’ Season 1 Episode 1 aired on July 11, 2017. It consists of 12 episodes, with the final one showing on September 26th, 2017. Given the nearly four-year delay, I doubt a second season is in the works.
Season 2 of ‘In Another World With My Smartphone is unlikely to be released anytime soon. Don’t cry, little weeblets. The majority of the time, a show’s success is judged by its viewing and reception by its audience. Right now, a variety of variables are affecting my decision. They might also be speculative. Check out the following:
- When it comes to public opinion, the Light Novel was well-received. The animation, on the other hand, was woefully deficient in both quality and presentation. Unnecessary character development was omitted. Strike one, mediocre first impressions?
- The current average score based on user reviews is 6.21. The popularity score of a light novel or manga is a crucial component in its adaptation into an anime. Two strikes…
- In such a case, a lack of source material might be claimed. Let us now look at the facts. The 19th issue of The Light Novel is now available. Given that Season 1 is based on the first three issues, it would be more than enough to cover a Season 2. Almost all of the titles are available in English as well. Strike three is now complete.
Season 1 got out to a sluggish start, but things quickly picked up. With over 16 issues of the novel to be covered in the next Season, anime fans can expect to see the creation of new genres based on mecha robot combat.
The quantity of material available for serialization is sufficient to cover a new two-season, 25-episode season. Given the rising demand for a new season, ‘In Another World With My Smartphone Season 2′ might be released in the fall of 2021 or 2022 if everything goes well.
We’ve previously covered all of the potential spring and winter releases for 2021. Most of the series involved are about to release their second season, which raises the question of whether Isekai Wa Smartphone To Tomo Ni Season 2 will be adapted into an anime in late 2021 or perhaps 2022.
Touya has how many wives?
It adds up to 9! Phew
With My Smartphone, I’m in Another World Dub in English
The program has only completed its Season 1 premiere, which consists of 12 episodes. The English dub is now hosted by Funimation, with Production Reed behind the scenes.
Season 2 of “In Another World With My Smartphone’s” suggestions
The manga is presently experiencing a backlog, thus it is doubtful that the program will have a Season 2 until the manga catches up. The manga source for the anime is presently being translated, with around seven of the seventy chapters done.
I recommend that you read the Light Novel. The plot is considerably more sophisticated than what you’d see in a manga or anime. People who have read the LN have also stated that a few additional things have been included. It’s not flawless, but it fills a real void in the isekai genre. Not as sensationalized as other shows, but a good tale nonetheless.
To avoid the spoiler, move on to the next paragraph. The author has apparently added a mecha-themed development in the LN. It does make the plot more digestible than simply running about dishing out fanservice.
Isekai Wa Smartphone To Tomo Ni isn’t really outstanding. The intended audience for the program is most likely harem aficionados that enjoy this type of stuff. Personally, I would not advocate viewing this program.
It’s a good watch for individuals who are just beginning into anime, but they’ll grow to detest it. Season 1 was rife with clichés, and if Season 2 follows like, it’s unlikely. But if it checks all of your boxes, go ahead and buy it.
I think we addressed all of the important points. It isn’t much right now, but we’ll add more as time goes on. But what do you think of the anime? Is it as engaging as it should be? Please let us know in the comments section below. Visit our website for more comparable information.
