Who is Jaime Xie?
Born in Beijing, China, Jaime Xie grew up watching American movies like Pretty Woman and Basic Instinct. Her parents were both doctors with a strong interest in art and music. It seems that this has had a big impact on Jaime, especially when it comes to fashion!
At just 16 years old, Jaime Xie was hired by Chanel to work for their brand.
Who is Bling Empire’s Jaime Xie?
Jaime, 24, is the elder daughter of Chinese businessman Ken Xie, founder of cyber security firm Fortinet. She is expected to make a bigger appearance in Season 2 of the reality TV series about China’s rich young women.
The first season of Bling Dynasty aired on Tencent Video in 2018 and followed six sisters – including Jaime – who competed for the chance to become one of China’s richest heiresses.
The second season will air later this month and feature eight contestants vying for the same prize.
While she appears infrequently in the first season, Jaime is set to play a much larger role in Season 2.
She told WWD magazine: “This season, I will be front and centre. There are a lot of clothes, a lot of makeup, a lot of nail art.
“There will be a lot of things you haven’t seen me do before.”
Ahead of the new show, Jaime told WWD: ”Season two will have lots more outfits and a lot more fashions, nails, hair and every thing.
What is Jaime Xie’s net worth?
Jaime Xie is one of China’s most successful entrepreneurs. She founded the online shopping site JD.com in 1999 and now earns over $1 billion annually. In addition to being one of the richest women in China, she is also the youngest billionaire woman in the world.
Xie grew up in Beijing where her parents ran a small restaurant. They had no formal education and didn’t speak English when she was growing up. But even though there weren’t many opportunities in China during the 1970s and 1980s, Xie’s mother encouraged her to learn about business and marketing.
She studied economics and management at Peking University and later worked for several companies including Lenovo.
In 2000, Xie cofounded JD.com with her husband, Richard Liu. At the time, it was just another ecommerce site selling electronics goods like televisions and computers. Today, JD.com dominates Chinese retail sales and is valued at almost $400 billion (£320bn).
Xie attended her first fashion week around the age of 17
A competitive equestrian, Chen Xie spends most of her free time training horses. She began competing in horse shows at the age of 11 and won her first competition at the age of 12. At 14, she was named the best female rider in China.
Even then, she said, “I couldn’t go a day thinking about fashion.” In fact, much of her fashion knowledge is learned through trial and error. She often buys clothes based on what she likes rather than following trends, and says she doesn’t follow fashion blogs because they are too focused on looks. Instead, she reads magazines like Teen Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
Her first designer purchase was around seventh grade —a Louis Vuitton Neverfull Bag and an Hermès Belt—the one with the big H. She got the bag for $1,200 and the belt for $2,400.
By 17, she had attended several fashion weeks and even went to Paris Fashion Week. It was there that she bought her first pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. They cost $4,500.
What is your role in the reality series? Why did you decide to join the cast?
I’m not the main character in the show, but the focus of the role is centred around my personal style. I thought it’d be fun to showcase my style and my love for fashion, given how large of a platform the Netflix brand is. When I was approached for this project, I knew I couldn’t say no.
What was it like filming and how did you prepare for your on-screen debut?
I actually joined the cast only about three weeks before we began shooting. So, it gave me very little time to prep. There was no set schedule for my scenes. I had to learn the lines off the cuff while working alongside co-stars. It certainly takes some getting used to having the camera crew around, especially since they film everything 24/7. You never know what might happen next.
But, once you get over the initial jitters, it becomes second nature. You just start acting like yourself again and go on living your regular life.
Schiaparelli
The Schiaparelli collection was inspired by the Italian Renaissance. The designer used bold colors like red and purple, and she incorporated some interesting shapes, such as the asymmetrical neckline. This season, the collection included a lot of black and white pieces, along with some gold accents.
Iris Van Herpen
Look 17 founder Iris Van Herpen is a true fashionista. She studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins College London and founded her eponymous label in 2011. Today, Look 17 is one of the most sought-after brands in the world. With a focus on futuristic silhouettes and innovative fabrics, you could say that Iris is ahead of her time.
The Dutch designer uses 3D printing technology to produce each piece in house. Using this method, Iris is able to make intricate shapes and patterns without having to use traditional sewing methods.
Antonio Grimaldi
I am a huge fan of fashion designer Antonio Grimaldi. His creations are always very wearable, and he often creates silhouettes that are unique and timeless. This particular piece is no exception. I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it online. The asymmetrical cut gives it a modern twist while still maintaining a classic feel. And the fringed hemline makes it extra special!
Giambattista Valli
Look 21 is known for creating some of the most covetable dresses out there, but we’ve never seen anything quite like this. This is “Giambattista,” a $2,500 ($1,800 USD) taffeta gown that looks like it came straight off the runway. We’re talking about a dress that even includes a built-in slip — because nothing says “I’m ready to go out” like a full slip underneath a dress. And while we love the look, we can’t help but wonder what the cost would be if you had to buy everything separately.
Christian Dior
The Christian Dior fashion house launched in 1947, and since then it has become one of the most famous brands in the world. Although Dior had his beginnings in Paris, he later moved to New York City where he became the head designer for House of Dior. He left the brand in 1957, returning to France in 1962. In 1965, Dior opened his first boutique in Paris, and soon gained recognition for his innovative designs. His collections included everything from dresses to suits, accessories, shoes and handbags.
Today, Dior continues to produce some of the best-selling luxury fashion items in the world. The brand’s clothes are worn by celebrities like Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian West, Taylor Swift, and many others.
