Kya Hua Tera Waada Lyrics – Mohammad Rafi

Kya Hua Tera Waada

Kya Hua Tera Wada
Woh Kasam Woh Iraada

Kya Hua Tera Wada
Woh Kasam Woh Iraada
Bhulega Dil Jis Din Tumhe
Woh Din Zindagi Ka Aakhiri Din Hoga

Kya Hua Tera Wada
Woh Kasam Woh Iraada

Bhulega Dil Jis Din Tumhe
Woh Din Zindagi Ka Aakhiri Din Hoga
Kya Hua Tera Wada

Yaad Hai Mujhko Tune Kaha Tha
Tumse Nahin Roothenge Kabhi
Dil Ki Tarah Se Haath Mile Hain
Kaise Bhala Chhoothenge Kabhi
Teri Baahon Mein Beeti Har Shaam
Bewafa Yeh Bhi Kya Yaad Nahin

Kya Hua Tera Wada
Woh Kasam Woh Iraada
Bhulega Dil Jis Din Tumhe
Woh Din Zindagi Ka Aakhiri Din Hoga

Kya Hua Tera Wada
Woh Kasam Woh Iraada..

O Kehne Waale Mujhko Farebi
Kaun Farebi Hai Yeh Bata
O Jisne Gham Liya Pyar Ki Khaatir
Yaa Jisne Pyar Ko Bech Diya
Nasha Daulat Ka Aisa Bhi Kya
Ke Tujhe Kuch Bhi Yaad Nahin

Kya Hua Tera Wada
Woh Kasam Woh Iraada
Bhulega Dil Jis Din Tumhe
Woh Din Zindagi Ka Aakhiri Din Hoga

Kya Hua Tera Wada
Woh Kasam Woh Iraada..

About Mohammad Rafi

Mohammed Rafi, whose voice brought hundreds of melodies to life, was born in the village Kotla Sultan Singh near Amritsar decades before India gained independence. However, Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan beckoned him to Lahore, where he cut his musical teeth. With Zeenat Begum, he sang the duet ‘Soniye Ni Heeriye Ni’ composed by Shyamsunder in the Punjabi film Gul Baloch.

Homi Wadia of Wadia Movietone saw Mohammed Rafi’s talent and hired him to sing for his forthcoming film Sharbati Ankhen under the direction of Feroz Nizami. Mohammed Rafi’s voice was unparalleled in its range. Playback singers are not distinguished from classical vocalists by their range or ability, but by their voice quality. It was Mohammed Rafi’s unique combination that made him the king of playback singing. Combined with his unsurpassed range, his voice made him stand out among his peers.

Life of Mohammad Rafi

It suited any style of music, whether it was a moving ghazal like Aap Ke Pehloo Main Aakar Ro Diye, a plaintive bhajan like O Duniya Ke Rakhawale, or a wild Shanker-Jaikishan composition like Chahe Koi Mujhe Jungle Kahe. The melody was made immortal by Mohammed Rafi’s delectable nuances. His voice had this unique feature of screen adaptability, which he combined with his intelligence as a singer to tailor it to an array of faces that remain etched in our minds. There was a queerly roundness to Johnny Walker’s voice. As well as Sar Jo Tera Chakraye from Pyasa, Mohammed Rafi’s version of Aye Dil Hai Mushkil Jeena Yaha from CID was phenomenal. If Johnny Walker sang the song himself, Mohammed Rafi would have sounded exactly like him. He summoned Johnny Walker a day or two before the song picturization and then added his bit to the character Johnny Walker played.

It is not an overstatement to say that heroes like Biswajit (Pukarta chala hoon main), Bharat Bhushan (Zindagi Bhar Nahin Bhoolegi Woh Barsaat Ki Raat), Joy Mukherjee (Bade Miyan Deewane) are remembered more for the songs that were pictured on them with Rafi lending his golden voice to their average acting abilities.

Mohammed Rafi was known for his altruistic behavior, which he demonstrated several times. For Music Directors who could not afford his regular fees, he has been known to charge just a token amount as his fee. Mohammed Rafi has often sung songs without charging the Music Directors a penny. Rakesh Roshan’s first film as a producer-director is Aap ke Deewane. He sang the title song of the film without charging any money since he liked it so much and after all, it was only a line. It was rare for a singer to be so good at heart. Most of his songs displayed this innate goodness.
