Param Sundari Lyrics – Shreya Ghoshal

Param Sundari

Aye bikaneri chhokri santre ki tokri
Ghar toh chhudwaya ab kya chhudayegi naukri

Romiyo romiyo gali ke romiyo
Bholi shaqal wale saare ke saare farebiyon
Romiyo romiyo Bhaade ke premiyon
kaahe gale pade ho bin bulaaye baaraatiyon

Le toh gayi kaleja sang mein humein bhi le ja
Yeh toh chori pe hai seenazori
Kabhi lage monalisa kabhi kabhi lage lolita
Aur kabhi jaise kadambari

Haye meri, param param
Param param param sundari
Haye meri, param param
Param param param sundari

Sar se paer talak betahasa husn se bhari
Haye meri, param param
Param param param sundari

Pairon mein paayal ki bedi se
Bandhke main na rehne waali
Main allhad purwar ke jaisi hun
Pardeson tak behne waali

Mujhe gehno se badhke
Sapnon ki chaahat hai
Jin sapnon ko sach
Ho jaane ki aadat hai

Katti hai meri mardon se
Yaari filmon ke pardo se

Le toh gayi kaleja
Sang mein hume bhi le ja
Yeh toh chori pe hai seenazori

Kabhi lage monalisa
Kabhi kabhi lage lolita
Aur kabhi jaise kadambari

Haye meri, param param
Param param param sundari
Haye meri, param param
Param param param sundari

Sar se paer talak betahasa husn se bhari
Haye meri, param param
Param param param sundari

Chhuna nahi chhuna chhuna nahi
Chhuna chuna nahi mujhko
Hona nahi hona hona nahi
Teri hona nahi mujhko

Hath jhod chaahe paanv pad
Parvah nahi mujhko
Na na na na na na…
Na na na na na na..

Aye bikaneri chhokri santre ki tokri
Ghar toh chhudwaya ab kya chhudwayegi naukri
Dekh ke kamar teri bhaage nabz meri
Jaise ghadi ka kaanta hickery dickery dockri

About A. R Rahman

A.R. Rahman, full name Allah Rakha Rahman, original name A.S. Dileep Kumar, is an Indian composer whose extensive body of work for film and stage earned him the nickname “the Mozart of Madras.”

A.R. Rahman’s father, R.K. Sekhar, was a prominent Tamil musician and composer for the Malayalam film industry. Rahman began studying piano at the age of four. His father’s serendipitous purchase of a synthesizer allowed him to combine his passion for electronics and computers with his love of music. Having lost his father at the age of nine, Rahman began playing piano professionally at the age of 11. After dropping out of school, he received a scholarship to study Western classical music at Trinity College, Oxford.

His family converted to Islam in 1988 after a sister recovered from a serious illness, and he took the name Allah Rakha Rahman. He eventually turned his talents toward creating advertising jingles after getting bored playing in bands. Over 300 jingles were written by him, and he would later say the experience taught him discipline since jingle writing requires a powerful message or mood in a short amount of time. Rahman was persuaded to write music for motion pictures by Bollywood film director Mani Ratnam in 1991, when he attended an award ceremony for his coffee advertisement. During their first collaboration, Rahman scored his first film soundtrack hit with Roja (1992). A total of more than 100 movie scores followed, including the music for the first Oscar-nominated Bollywood film, Lagaan (2001). Over 100 million albums have been sold by Rahman.

Rahman’s soundtracks were heard by British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, who asked him to write a stage musical. The show opened in London’s West End in 2002 with little fanfare, with Rahman’s score composed in collaboration with lyricist Don Black. Although Rahman was already well known among London’s large Indian population, ticket sales were strong, which led to the Broadway production’s launch in 2004. The Lord of the Rings musical, Rahman’s next stage project, premiered in Toronto in 2006. To capture the otherworldliness of Tolkien’s creations, Rahman and the Finnish folk ensemble Värttinä collaborated on a musical score budgeted at $25 million. Despite harsh reviews in Toronto and London (where it opened in 2007), the play was a moderate success.
