The funniest movie of the year: The Lost City

The film highlight in April
Lost City – The mystery of the lost city

“That’s ridiculous!” We don’t think so, the new action comedy full of star power promises adventure and fast-paced humor – perfect for starting spring full of energy!

You finally want to get out again? Experience something on the way? Beat your way through the jungle? Stomp over mountains and double over with laughter? Then you are exactly right here. “What kind of a dream cast is that?!” was our first thought: Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe and Brad Pitt. The quartet stars together in the latest action comedy “Lost City.”

And our second thought was: “Miss Undercover” meets “Magic Mike” meets “Harry Potter” meets Brad Pitt – let’s go! We can all use a little fun in the rainforest.

From April 21st the blockbuster will run “The Lost City – The mystery of the lost city” in German cinemas. After grossing over 31 million dollars in the USA in its first weekend, a similar rush is expected in German cinemas.

Star ensemble in Lost City – The Mystery of the Lost City

In the film, Bullock stars as novelist Loretta Sage, Tatum plays the cover model of her book series, and Radcliffe plays the villain Abigail Fairfax. Instead, Pitt, with almost as long hair as fellow actress Bullock, takes on the role of the precious joker in this film. The scenes in which he appears as Jack Trainer, a former Navy SEAL, are totally his own. The living Hollywood legend wasn’t even planned for the film. But Pitt still had an open favor to return to Bullock – what luck for the viewers, because the entire ensemble harmonizes perfectly with each other.

One reason for the on-screen amusement could be that Duo Bullock and Tatum know each other very well in their personal lives as well. As Bullock revealed to an Australian talk show, she and Tatum have often been called upon to head their children’s preschool. “Our daughters were at each other’s throats,” Bullock said. In the meantime the hatchet has been buried and everyone has made up. During filming, the former little rivals even had to go into quarantine together.

The star quartet is complemented by Oscar Nunez (The Proposal), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (High Fidelity) and Patti Harrison (Shrill).

That’s what Lost City is all about

Alone and reclusive, writer Sage (Sandra Bullock) writes adventure novels with her hunky cover model Alan (Channing Tatum) and dreams of places far away.

During a promotional tour for her new book, billionaire Fairfax (Daniel Radcliff) kidnaps Sage, believing she can help him find an old treasure she wrote about in her novel. Cover model Alan (Channing Tatum) then embarks on a rescue mission to prove he’s a real hero.

The starting signal for all sorts of surprises, colossal misses, cars that are too small, hair that is too long. And what does Tatum say about the comfort level of Bullock’s skintight sequined one-piece suit? “It must have felt like she was carrying a cheese grater.” Our conclusion: buy a ticket, sit down, chew popcorn (be careful when laughing) and enjoy.
