Transparent Soul Lyrics – Willow Smith

Transparent Soul

One, two, three, four

I don’t fucking know if it’s a lie or it’s a fact
All your little fake friends will sell your secrets for some cash
Smile in my face, then put your cig’ out on my back
If you ever see me, just get to runnin’ like The Flash

I knew a boy just like you
He’s a snake, just like you
Such a fake, just like you
But I can see the truth

Transparent soul
I can see right through, just so you know
Transparent soul
I can see right through, just so you know

I don’t fucking know if it’s paradise or it’s a trap
Yeah, they’re treating me like royalty, but is it kissin’ ass?
No one’s brave enough to take the fall right
But it’s all your fault
Why you actin’ like it’s alright?

I knew a girl just like you
She was vain, just like you
Such a pain, just like you
And everybody knows the truth

Transparent soul
I can see right through, just so you know
Transparent soul
I can see right through, just so you know

It’s clear to me now
You’re scared of me, wow
It’s clear to me now (transparent soul)
It’s clear to me now
You’re scared of me, wow
It’s clear to me now (transparent soul)

Transparent soul
I can see right through, just so you know
Transparent soul
I can see right through, just so you know

About Willow Smith

Actress, singer, and dancer Willow Smith hails from the United States. When Smith was seven, her father’s super hit film ‘I Am Legend’ launched her career. Afterward, she starred in a comedy-drama film called ‘Kit Kittredge: An American Girl,’ for which she was nominated for a Young Artist Award. Smith stormed into the music scene just when her acting career was taking off with ‘Whip My Hair.’ It went on to become a super hit, topping the charts in both the US and the UK. She then went on to establish herself as a singer-songwriter by signing to Jay-Z’s ‘Roc Nation’ record label, becoming the youngest artist signed to ‘Roc Nation’. Smith released her debut studio album in 2015 via Roc Nation. Her musical abilities have surprised more of her family than anyone else. According to Jada Pinkett Smith, “I have no idea where that voice came from.”. It’s like she’s singing like a grown woman. There’s something about her that I don’t understand. It’s all about music for her.”‘

At the age of seven, Willow Smith made her acting debut in the blockbuster film ‘I Am Legend’ (2007), starring alongside her superstar father Will Smith. Willow Smith auditioned like everyone else and won the role on her own merits despite being Will Smith’s daughter. With utmost conviction and confidence, she portrayed the role.

Career

In 2008, she landed a role in Kit Kittredge: An American Girl. The film received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Willow Smith was also awarded the Young Artist Award for ‘Best Performance in Feature Film.’ The same year, she voiced the character of ‘Young Gloria’ in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

She played a guest role in the Nickelodeon series ‘True Jackson, Vice President’ after appearing in a couple of feature films. Though it was only a guest role, Smith enjoyed working on the series. Additionally, she believed that TV work was more enjoyable because she could have fun while doing it.

Her parents and fans were surprised when she entered the music scene in 2010, after establishing herself as an actress. ‘Whip My Hair,’ her first R&B single, went platinum in the US and peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK, it peaked at number two.

The hip-hop legend Jay-Z signed Willow Smith to his Roc Nation label in September 2010. It is interesting to note that Jay Z did not know her age or her parents when he heard her voice.

On February 3, 2011, she released her second single, ’21st Century Girl,’ following the success of her debut single. It was released on March 9, 2011, a day before Willow Smith performed it on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show.’

A collaboration between her and rapper Nicki Minaj entitled ‘Fireball’ was released toward the end of 2011. The song was not a commercial success. It failed to chart on music charts, with the exception of the US R&B chart, where it peaked at number 121. As Willow Smith’s first song not featured on the Billboard Hot 100, this was her first single not to appear on that listing.

She announced the release of her debut album ‘Knees and Elbows’ in April 2012, but then postponed it until the end of the year. On May 1, 2012, she released her first ever music video entitled ‘Do It Like Me (Rockstar)’. After almost two months, she released her next video, ‘I Am Me.’ Weeks later, she released her fourth single, ‘I Am Me.’ Knees and Elbows has not been released yet.

Willow Smith and DJ Fabrega formed the duo ‘Melodic Chaotic.’ Their first work together was titled ‘The Intro,’ which was closely followed by their second work ‘Summer Fling.’ Summer Fling was widely criticized for its mature tone and Smith’s faux-English accent.
